What is included

A real tracker, not a blank table

The workbook calculates the useful numbers from the rows you enter. The Dashboard can switch between the included sample and your clean Sessions tab, so every chart has a worked example before you trust it with your own history.

  • Formula-backed net result, true hourly, BB/hr and result in big blinds.
  • Bankroll curve, monthly results, stake split and venue split.
  • Average session length, total hours, winning-session rate and maximum drawdown.
  • Custom venue, game and stake lists with clear formula notes.
  • Clean 500-row entry table plus a separate worked sample.
  • Version, changelog, licence and data-ownership notes in the file.

Field definitions

What to record after every poker session

The sheet separates cash movement, time and costs so a headline win does not become a flattering hourly. Complete beats perfect: if a cost is unknown, leave it blank rather than inventing it.

How the true hourly is calculated

This example buys in for £1,000, cashes out £1,378 and records £20 in tips plus £18 travel. Net Result is £340. Across 5.5 hours that is £61.82 per hour, or 12.36 BB/hr at a £5 big blind.

Move the history without losing the sample

The plain CSV carries the same core column names with no formulas. It is the cleanest interchange format when you want to move your history into a tracker or back into your own analysis.

  1. Keep one row per session and use ISO dates such as 2026-08-05.
  2. Export or save the session table as CSV UTF-8.
  3. Map date, venue, game, stake, buy-in, cash-out and hours first.
  4. Map tips, travel, rake, notes and tags where the source has them.
  5. Check totals against the workbook before accepting the import.

Troubleshooting

Fix the common spreadsheet problems

BB/hr is blank

Enter a numeric Big Blind, Hours and a completed Net Result. Stake is a readable label; Big Blind is the calculation field.

The dashboard still shows sample data

On Dashboard, change Data source from Sample to Your Sessions. The headline stats and charts follow that selector.

My result looks double-counted

If cash-out already reflects table rake, leave the Rake column at zero. Use it only for a separate fee that the cash-out number does not include.

Google Sheets changed the chart style

The data and formulas remain the important part. Google may restyle imported Excel charts. Reapply your preferred chart colours after saving as a native Google Sheet.

Questions

Poker spreadsheet FAQs

Is the poker bankroll spreadsheet really free?

Yes. Excel, Google Sheets-ready and CSV versions download without an email address, account or card. The workbook uses no macros or external data connection.

Does it calculate poker hourly rate and BB/hr?

Yes. Net Result subtracts buy-in and direct costs from cash-out. True Hourly divides that net by hours, and BB/hr also uses the numeric Big Blind field.

Can I use it in Google Sheets?

Yes. Download the Google Sheets-ready copy, upload it to Drive and open it with Google Sheets. Save it as a native Google Sheet if you want cloud sharing.

How many sessions can the workbook hold?

The supplied entry table has 500 prepared rows with formulas, validation and dashboard support. You can extend the table in Excel if you need more.

Can I bring the spreadsheet into Overshove?

Yes. Save the clean session table as CSV, map the columns once and check the imported totals against the workbook so the full sample comes across.

Who owns the data?

You do. The file stays on your device or in your own cloud account, and the plain CSV gives you an open interchange format.
