Home-game settlement calculator

Turn final player balances into transfers, with every penny accounted for.

Write name, balance. Positive means the player receives money; negative means they pay. Use the same currency throughout, with up to two decimal places.

How this tool works

Balances must sum to zero. The largest debtor pays the largest creditor until all balances are settled. This greedy method uses at most one fewer transfer than the number of players with a nonzero balance. It does not guarantee the globally fewest transfers.
