Exact counts, no account

Five-card poker hand probabilities

Calculate disjoint hand-class counts for a full 52-card deck or a declared 36-card short-deck ruleset.

The short-deck mode uses ranks 6 through ace, counts A6789 as a straight, and keeps straights above three of a kind. Every result concerns exactly five randomly dealt cards.

Method and assumptions

Each unordered five-card hand is equally likely. The denominator is C(deck size,5). Category counts are built from rank choices and suit assignments, with straight flushes excluded from both ordinary straights and flushes. The categories sum to the entire deck sample space. These are five-card deal frequencies, not seven-card Hold'em showdown frequencies or hand-versus-hand equity.
